How the National FFA Officers will celebrate FFA Week

The 2011-2012 National FFA Officers are traveling to six different states to celebrate National FFA Week. We will be conducting many workshops and speaking to students and educators on a variety of topics. Check out what each officer has on their agenda as they continue to celebrate “I Believe”.

Seth Pratt in Delaware:

During FFA week Seth will be visiting 13 chapters across Delaware. Monday he will be doing a community service project, and Wednesday is the Delaware FFA Foundation luncheon. He will attend two chapter banquets and discuss adding a second instructor at Chipman Middle School. By the end of the week he will have completed 5 workshops and 5 keynote addresses. Seth’s goal is to reach 600 students in 4 days!

Jason Troendle in Mississippi:

Jason is headed down to the great state of Mississippi for a packed week where FFA members will share what they believe. He looks forward to joining the state officers and other FFA members on Monday and Tuesday at the capital to share the importance of agriculture and FFA with decision-makers in Jackson. He is excited to continue to share the message of agriculture through an Ag in the Classroom experience with the Junior State FFA Officers!  The rest of the week is filled with business visits and many classroom interactions.  Jason has never been to Mississippi and is very excited to spend his first trip with FFA members across the state!

Kenny Quick in Wyoming:

This week Kenny will be heading out west to the state of Wyoming.  His schedule is full; spending time with 20 chapters and seeing quite a lot of the state. He is excited to meet with the Governor and spend time with the Wyoming State FFA Officers. Some of the spots on the map that he will stop by include; Sheridan, Kacyee, Casper, Laramie and Cheyenne. This New York dairy farmer is looking forward to seeing the Wild West!

Cain Thurmond in Indiana:

Cain will be traveling the Hoosier state of Indiana! His week kicks off today at the state leadership camp in Trafalgar. At Trafalgar, he will be spending time with members at their state Leadership Development Workshops into the weekend. Monday starts bright and early at WISH TV as he shares the message of FFA and the difference it continues to make in the lives of members. In the days that follow, he will be doing several chapter visits from the Lebanon Middle School Chapter to the newly-formed Purdue Collegiate FFA Chapter. Cain is super stoked to carry the message of FFA and hear stories of members whose lives have been transformed!

Alicia Hodnik in West Virginia:

Alicia is stoked to be heading off to West Virginia for National FFA Week. She will begin her week by visiting rural West Virginia on Monday. On Tuesday, she will be engaging with educators and students at Hampshire County High School and talk with students at Keyser High School about character. Wednesday brings a lot of excitement as Alicia visits South Harrison High School, Gilmer High School, and attends a Friends of FFA Banquet. To wrap up the week, she will be visiting Mason County, Wirt County, and attend the Ripley FFA Banquet! She is pumped to be reinforcing the theme “I Believe”.

Ryan Best In Missouri:

Ryan will be traveling to the great state of Missouri, will visit 19 schools and interact with many FFA members. During the week, he will take part in assembly and workshop presentations, several meetings with teachers, administrators, and staff, keynote speeches, and take part in some awesome recreational activities with area FFA members including Donkey Basketball!  Some chapters Ryan will visit include Neosho, Wheaton, Joplin, Miller, Monett, East Newton, Pleasant Hope, Buffalo, Rogersville, Mansfield, Ava, Springfield, Aurora, Clever, Marionville, Purdy, Cassville, Bronaugh, and Golden City.  He is looking forward to meeting some awesome members, teachers, and advisors while spreading the message of agricultural education and the agricultural industry.

The officers are ready to head on the road and celebrate a National FFA Week to remember! Let’s show the world that FFA is celebrating National FFA Week. Hold on to that feeling and don’t stop believing!
